Na heeel veel uitzoekwerk gekozen voor deze Bass Compressor. Misschien wel de belangrijkste aanschaf voor een bassist. Na vele jaren tevreden de Aquilar TLC gebruikt, maar zocht nu iets met dezelfde kwaliteit en transparantie maar ook iets voor wat extremere compressie settings en sustainmogelijkheid. De Seymour Duncan doet dit allebei geweldig! Dankzij de Dry Blend kan je het orignele signaal er in mixen, en dat signaal ook van wat laag of midden voorzien. Ook is hier mee attack (wanneer de compressie start) wat beter te regelen. De Attack knop zelf heeft een klein bereik maar daarom is het experimenteren met de Blend knop zeker aan te bevelen! De kwaliteit is zeer goed, ook de bouw en de knoppen voelen goed aan. Geweldige kwaliteitscompressor die alle gewenste klusjes aan kan, van lichte transparante compressie tot extreme compressie met sustain.
Ik adviseer om hem te laten draaien op 18v want kan je actieve bas ook wat meer ademen. Nooit een miskoop en makkelijke bediening.

Geweldig pedaal!
Ondanks al heel wat jaren ervaring op bas nog nooit met een compressor gespeeld, want ik vond ze altijd teveel ruis geven of teveel kleuren. Nu toch overstag gegaan en ik zou er bijna van gaan balen dat ik niet eerder deze keuze heb gemaakt.

De studiobass is zeer degelijk gebouwd en is ruisvrij. In professionele reviews las ik dat ze geen kleuring geeft, maar ik hoor toch een kleine bump in het midlaag. Wel smaakvol en zeker niet hinderlijk. Bij p-bass zeer lekker en ook het karakter van mijn stingray wordt positief versterkt.
Ze is erg direct (VCA) en dus zeer geschikt voor bas, met name voor de plukkers. Maar ik ben nog meer onder de indruk hoe het signaal 'schoon' gemaakt wordt voor de effecten die achter de comp zijn geschakeld, vooral de octaver en bass synth werken vele malen beter.

Ik heb deze gekozen omdat je het cleane geluid erbij kunt blenden, zodat je dynamiek nog overeind kunt houden. Dat werkt fantastisch, zeker in combinatie met de keuzeswitch tussen mid, full en low.

Vergelijkingsmateriaal heb ik niet, maar afgaande de testen die ik heb gehoord en mijn eigen ervaring kan je voor dit geld niet beter krijgen. Of doorsparen voor de Cali76...
