General

The Downtown Express is a bass multi-effects pedal that Fender designed in collaboration with Alex Aguilar. It has virtually everything a bass guitarist needs to shape their sound and includes an overdrive, a compressor and a 3-band EQ. In addition to the standard gain and threshold potentiometers, the compressor also has the welcome addition of a blend control so that the balanced, compressed signal can be perfectly mixed with the clean one.

Downtown Express: a versatile addition to your bass setup

Some playing and music styles benefit from a change in the order of the overdrive and compressor which is why this pedal has a special switch on board that allows you to easily do just that. In fact, you'll notice that all of the controls are well placed and easy to use. The housing is robust and lightweight and the LED backlit knobs means that the Downtown Express can also be used on dark stages without any problems. All of this amounts to a pedal that's a versatile addition to almost any bass setup.

Je suis entièrement satisfait un son vraiment chaud simple à utiliser le drive et la compression on des level qui permette de gérer facilement le niveau désiré la compression est super discrète et efficace elle dispose de toute les possibilités pour se connecter

Snel en compleet geleverd. Ik ben er nog mee aan het experimenteren. Het lukt om de door mij gewenste sound eruit te halen. Ik zocht naar een apparaat waarmee het geluid van met name het hogere gedeelte duidelijker en harder naar voren komt, zonder herder aan te hoeven slaan. Een subtiele aanpassing dus. Ik ben er zover tevreden over. ik speel niet meer zonder.

Apparaat wordt niet geleverd met voeding; als je een voeding gebruikt met een te laag vermogen (de Downtown heeft 400 mA nodig!) doet hij het niet naar behoren. Toen ik dit eenmaal door had (had hem al bijna teruggestuurd) bleek dat het een geweldig pedaal is.
- Compressor: Maar slechts 2 parameters maar hier kan je alles mee, ik mis de attack en release mogelijkheden niet. Ook handig de LED die aangeeft wanneer de compressie actief is.
- EQ: Smaakvol en warm geluid, met name van de middentonen.
- Overdrive: kan van een zeer licht randje tot flinke dist. ingesteld worden. Prima voor mijn smaak. Ook toonregeling voor alleen de distortion is zeer handig.
- Ander pluspunt is dat het master volume ook werkt als alle pedalen uit staan.

All in all: Een prima pedaal met precies genoeg aanpasbare parameters. Prima behuizing alleen uitkijken met de juiste voeding dus.

Prima apparaat dat geheel voldoet aan wat je van Fender mag verwachten. Erg leuk om verschillende sounds uit mijn bassen te halen. Netjes afgeleverd. Goed verpakt. Topproduct!
