General

The Pearl PBC-507 Primero Box Cajon is a highly versatile instrument. Pearl made this cajon out of Asiatic pine and finished it with a matte Gypsy Brown lacquer The frontplate doesn't just show off the gorgeous wood grain, it's also designed to provide beautifully deep bass. Behind this playing surface, you'll find a set of snare wires that offer a quick response. You can even adjust the amount of snare sizzle via a small, practical snare system, allowing you to vary between a flamenco-style sound and a traditional Peruvian cajon sound. While Pearl promotes the Primero Box as an entry-level instrument, even advanced players will find plenty to like.

Cajon: very versatile

The cajon is a highly versatile percussion instrument. It was originally used for traditional Peruvian music, but nowadays it's also a popular acoustic alternative to a drum kit. Thanks to its deep bass and sharp snare tone, basic drum rhythms are quite easy to reproduce. With the help of various accessories and brushes, you can greatly expand this potential palette of percussive sounds.
