General

The Pearl PCJ-633BB Boom Box Cajon certainly lives up to its name. This cajon has a fibreglass body that features a bass port on the back, which basically has the same effect as a speaker's woofer, allowing for much more powerful bass. Furthermore, the body is fitted with a fixed snare system for that sharp snare drum-like crack. The frontplate is made of wood and finished with the same Artisan Red mahogany finish that is used on the body, which clearly shows off the beautiful grain. Thanks to its unusual construction, this cajon offers a very direct attack and a beautifully bright sound. It's also very lightweight, thanks to its fibreglass body.

Een prachtige cajon. Ook het aanzien is een aantal sterretjes waard. Een prachtig vol geluid met een enorme bass die zonder versterking al kleine zalen kan vullen. De Pearl heeft al menig optreden gespeeld en elke keer krijg je weer de reactie "Wat een mooi instrument. Zeker duur?" Ja, wat is duur? Als je de prijs ziet vind ik hem absoluut niet duur. De cajon is van glasvezel en de afwerking is super.
Ik wilde hem eigenlijk 6 sterren geven maar dag gaat niet, dus op deze manier nog een dikke sterretje.
