General

Featuring the modular Ion system, the unique Sela Percussion Iconic Cajon basically combines three percussive instruments in one. So, while the Iconic Cajon has all of the sound and playability you'd expect from a high-end cajon, it also comes with an extra two Ion modules: circular pads that add their own texture and response to the mix. The Ions have been slotted into the circular openings on the left and right upper side corners of the cajon, expanding the potential of this model with an extra two playing surfaces, while the birch wood body has been finished with a ziricote wood playing surface, a set of four adjustable snare wires (two on each side) and multiple sound ports.

The Sela Ion System

This edition of the Iconic Cajon comes including two Ions: the Cuban Ion, which features a natural goathide batter head that simulates the sound of a bongo when struck, and a Turkish Ion, the sound of which is directly inspired by the response of a darbuka. The second Ion has been finished with a green synthetic batter head that's more resistant to shifts in temperature and humidity levels. To change up the sound of the Iconic Cajon further, the range also includes a Peruvian, Kenyan and Guinean Ion (sold separately), and the Ion pads can be easily swapped around using the included adjustment key.
