The Rode Videomic NTG is an enormously flexible on-camera microphone that can double as a boom mic and is fully adjustable for recording voice overs, podcasts, gaming or live streaming.

Features and Then Some

The design of the Rode Videomic NTG lends it an incredibly transparent and natural audio response. The 'auto-sensing' mini-jack output automatically detects whether it's being connected to a camera or mobile device, while the 'infinitely variable gain control' ensures that the microphone outputs precisely the level dialed in by the user. Besides this, the Rode Videomic NTG is fitted with a digital switch so that a high-pass filter (offering the option to shave off 75Hz of 150Hz) and a high-frequency boost to inject a little brightness and detail. There's also the option to record with a -20dB cut to avoid loud, distorted audio and even the option to record a separate track with -20dB.
