It often takes decades for wood to dry out completely, which is why instruments made from that old (aged), dry wood are often very expensive. At Ortega, they found a solution: they developed a special thermo-technique in which wood is heated in a vacuum so that all moisture and resin disappear immediately. Both the solid, spruce top and the maple neck and jatoba fingerboard of this Ortega Thermo Series R23RO Guitar underwent this treatment, and it has its effect on both the sound and the look of the guitar.

Drier, harder, lighter

The thermo-treated wood of the Ortega Thermo Series R23RO Guitar is harder and also lighter than "young" wood, resulting in a spectacular response and a powerful and clear sound. Moreover, the drawings in the solid spruce top became more pronounced, an effect that is further emphasised by the satin finish. Finished with walnut bindings and a - also roasted - jatoba bridge, this guitar combines the looks and sound of a high-quality instrument with a competitive price. The neck is quite narrow and has a short scale, which increases playing comfort and makes the guitar also very suitable for less experienced guitarists.
