General

The CGS102A is Yamaha's smallest instrument in the School Guitars series. It is the ideal choice for children aged about 5 to 8 who want to start playing guitar. This 1/2 size classical guitar has a shorter string length, making it easier to play for children's hands. The sound box is also a touch smaller than a traditional nylon-string guitar, which also makes it more comfortable for children to play. But don't let its size fool you, because the CGS102A is a beautiful instrument, made from the right woods and with reliable Yamaha quality.

Features of the Yamaha CGS102A

The CGS102A is based on Yamaha's great-sounding CG series of budget classical guitars. It is therefore equipped with a real spruce top and meranti sides and back. This gives it a wonderfully warm and full sound, despite its smaller size and body depth of only 84 millimetres. The nato wood neck features a 19-fret rosewood fingerboard and, at 48 millimetres, is a lot narrower than that of a 4/4-sized classical guitar. All in all, the CGS102A delivers that famous Yamaha sound and feel that beginners will enjoy for years to come.
