General

You love the playing experience of a valve amp – that immediate response to your touch, that organic character – but would prefer to avoid the fragility and maintenance of hot valves. At the same time, you want plenty of flexibility: two fully independent channels, a built-in reverb and a hassle-free way to record directly. The Laney Ironheart Foundry IRF60-112 is built around that idea: everything you need, without any unnecessary extras. Solid-state technology replicates the tone and feel of Laney’s Ironheart tube series, giving you that characteristic dynamics without the fragility of tubes.

Two channels, LA·IR and USB recording

On Channel 1 (Rhythm), the Gain Character switch lets you choose between asymmetric, clean or symmetric clipping, whilst Channel 2 (Lead) delivers high-gain sustain with adjustable Bright, Flat or Dark voicing. You can add a switchable boost when you go solo, and the built-in springline reverb – based on Laney’s Secret Path pedal – adds space without the need for extra pedals. Via the balanced XLR direct output with LA·IR cabinet simulation (GS112 or GS412), you can easily connect to a PA system or interface, and thanks to USB-C, you can connect the combo directly to your computer for recording or to use the free app. Set the Power Mode to the lowest setting and you can play with full character without waking the neighbours.

Tips or comments about this product

The footswitches for boost, channel selection and reverb are not included.
