With the BG-75 Double Four, Phil Jones Bass might as well be defying the very laws of physics. Wrapping up a new driver design and innovative digital amplifier technology, this is the ultimate compact bass combo. Inside this little cabinet sit two specially-developed four-inch Neo Power speakers. These speakers have been tuned in meticulous detail, fully setting them up to handle the extreme signal of an amplified bass guitar. On top of that, each speaker has been equipped with it's own PWM amplifier with pulse-width modulation, making the PJB Double Four more efficient and more energy saving than any of your average off-the-shelf solid state amplifiers - it also makes it supremely reliable.
The PJB BG-75 Double Four: A Clever Build
It's immediately clear that a massive amount of thought has been spent on the design of this combo. To get the most out of the compact build, the Rectangular Auxiliary Low Frequency Radiator (RALFR®) was developed in-house. This slimline radiator sits on the back and activates in response to the lowest frequencies to raise the speaker output when it hits the 30 to 150kHz range. The housing is also internally reinforced and coated with acoustic damping material to result in a controlled and fully controllable bass sound that's always framed by tight tone and is never in danger of getting muddy.
