General

The Gamechanger Audio PLUS Pedal II is a comprehensive effects pedal that allows you to add piano-like sustain and sostenuto to virtually any sound source. Think electric guitar, vocals, wind instruments, strings, acoustic instruments or experimental sound sources. Rather than a ‘freeze’-style effect, the tonal character remains surprisingly natural, so your performance stays recognisable whilst you build up layers. What’s more, the iconic brass footswitch responds gradually throughout the entire stroke, meaning your sustain isn’t simply on or off, but can be genuinely modulated as a form of expression.

Spectral Sampling™ and layering

At the heart of the PLUS Pedal II is the new Spectral Sampling™ engine, which analyses and realistically preserves the timbre, harmonics and dynamics of your input. With the LAYERS button, you can choose whether to use 1 layer for maximum clarity, or 2 to 10 layers for rich chordal textures and soundscapes. If you want to take it even further, there’s Infinite Mode for endless layering. Auto Layer Catch makes it even more relaxed: just keep your foot on the pedal and play, whilst the pedal intelligently detects new notes, handles transitions and builds musical layers.

Connections, mic preamp and smart FX loop

There are several ways to connect: via a 6.3 mm jack (instrument) or via the combo XLR/TS input with a built-in studio-grade mic preamp. Useful for vocals and acoustic sources, although it’s worth noting that the preamp is designed for dynamic microphones and does not provide phantom power. The stereo SEND/RETURN FX loop features a 3-position switch (pre/inside/post), allowing you to route external effects before the engine, only on the sustain layers, or after the mix without having to change cables. Power is supplied via a 9V DC centre-negative power supply (min. 500 mA; adapter not included).
