Istanbul Agop and Cindy Blackman have worked together on a cymbal series before. The OM series contains some really pure jazz cymbals, they sound dry and dark. For Cindy Blackman's jazz work, these cymbals are totally awesome, but Cindy doesn't just play jazz. She is also the driving force behind Lenny Kravitz, for example. With the Mantra cymbals, Istanbul Agop has expanded Cindy Blackman Santana's sound palette - the Mantra cymbals are made of B20 and sound traditional, open, bright and yet also dark. This crash is also great to use as a ride - it has a nice 'wash' and maintains excellent definition. The cup mixes well with the cymbal top so you don't have that harsh, shrill cutting cup sound. Pop, rock, indie, jazz, world music - the Mantra cymbals can handle it all!
