General
The Sabian AAX Thin Crash 18-inch is the ideal all-round crash cymbal, it can be used as an accent or rhythm cymbal. It is a fairly bright cymbal, but still has a complex low end. This is due to the small, raw bell that also ensures the cymbal's easy attack. Another reason for the subtle gritty sound is the revamped hammer pattern, which uses a larger striking surface.
Full sound of the AAX Thin Crash 18-inch
With its bright sound and subtle low end, this cymbal has quite a lot of frequencies on board. Of course, this needs to be balanced, and to do so, the Canadian cymbal makers have gone to work with a new method. Thanks to the "Autofocus Response" treatment, all frequencies are balanced to perfection. As an added effect, it filters out the annoying overtones that make a cymbal sound shrill. So you are left with only the full sound you are looking for.
