General

The Sabian 15005XTMN HHX Performance Set consists of a 14-inch medium hihat, 16- and 18-inch thin crashes and a 21-inch thin ride, all from the well-known HHX series. This professional set is widely applicable, from jazz to rock and from pop to metal. With the traditional finish on the top, the raw finish on the bell and the fierce hammer pattern, these cymbals sound complex and slightly gritty, without being enormously dark. Due to the thin weight, the crashes speak very easily and give an 'in your face' accent, although the 18-inch crash cymbal has enough body to be used as a rhythm cymbal as well. The ride's bell sounds wonderfully compact and on the blade you get a dark 'ping' with a fair amount of wash. The hihat gives a dry chick and sounds dark and slightly trashy when played open.
