From the moment you put this Marine Band to your lips, you will notice that you are playing a special instrument. Over a century of German craftsmanship is reflected when playing this harmonica. Great (international) artists have chosen the Marine Band Classic over the past century, including Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, John Mayer, John Lennon and Van Morrison. This one is tuned in the key of G minor. This makes it suitable for playing along with music in C minor (cross harp), G minor (straight harp), B-flat and F, among others.

Hohner Marine Band Natural Minor

The blues harp, as a diatonic harmonica is also called, is mostly used for soloing in blues music. That 'whining' harmonica is very characteristic of this style of music. As the blues is often sad, it is often played in a minor key. This created the demand for a real blues harp in minor. The Natural Minor tuning differs from the Richter tuning. Five notes are tuned down a semitone, creating a perfect scale in minor.
