Hohner Marine Band - Crossover, B

General

Hohner has served many musicians with the Marine Band. The instrument is widely used in classical blues music, but is also very suitable for jazz, rock, soul and funk. This Crossover variant has a comb made of bamboo, which makes the tones very clear. The clear tones set the Crossover apart from the other models in the Marine Band series. A fast response gives a lot of control over the dynamic aspects of the sound. This model is tuned in B-flat major, a key commonly used to play along with music in F-sharp major.

Solid construction

As we have come to expect from Hohner, the quality of this instrument is once again outstanding. The materials are of a very solid quality and the finish of the reeds, covers and comb show craftsmanship. The bamboo comb, for instance, is laminated, making it consistent under all conditions and thus retaining its class for longer. All 10 sound holes are fitted with 2 brass tongues, which can thus produce a total of 20 tones. Modern Compromise tuning has been used, providing a nice balance between loose tones and full chords. The Crossover comes with a matching storage box.
