The strength of Marine Band harmonicas lies in the brilliant blues sound that emanates from the compactly designed instrument. This Crossover variant is identical to the original Marine Band, except for one thing: the comb. This is because it is made of bamboo, a type of wood that gives a very bright timbre to the tones. The Crossover's sound is still very suitable for classical blues, jazz and soul, among others. To improve the durability and reliability of the bamboo, Hohner has laminated the comb. The extra layer ensures that the bamboo does not expand or shrink with temperature changes. This model is tuned in C-major, one of the most commonly used tunings in diatonic harmonicas, as they can play along with music in G-major.

While the sound of this particular model lies in its timbre, the Marine Band also already has distinctive features. For instance, the compact design is airtight, allowing you to make dynamic differences with great precision. In addition, Hohner has deliberately not tuned the individual notes very tightly, so that individual notes can more beautifully form a chord together. The stainless steel covers provide plenty of volume and are easy to unscrew for maintenance. Via 10 nicely rounded holes in the mouthpiece, you can operate 20 brass reeds that have an outstanding responsiveness.
