Hohner's Marine Band has been immensely popular with both professional and beginner harmonica players since 1896. This model has been optimally improved with new features, so is increasingly preferred by harmonica players and is sold under the name Marine Band Deluxe. This specimen is tuned in the key of C.

Improvements over the Marine Band

The Marine Band Deluxe has been significantly improved over the original Marine Band. These include a new and improved design of the covers, which ensures a nicer and, if desired, louder volume. In addition, this new design prevents tongues from rattling, which can cause an annoying side noise. This Marine Band Deluxe is equipped with three tuning plate screws and four cover screws to maximise airtightness and make maintenance easier. The new tongue profiles make it last longer and prevent the tongues from breaking. The pearwood comb has been varnished no less than three times, ensuring that it can deliver better volume, minimise swelling and speed up response. In addition, the channel openings and tuning board edges are rounded for great playing comfort. This harmonica comes in a sturdy cover with a zip that ensures that any moisture can evaporate, but dust cannot reach the harmonica.
