Made for artists, bands, producers and engineers who're looking to streamline their workflow, the Allen & Heath CQ-18T digital mixer enables you to work faster, mix smarter and sound better. This compact yet feature-packed bit of kit comes loaded with A&H's FPGA technology and various time-saving tools to simplify your job, if not do it for you!
Your Personal Sound Assistant
The Allen & Heath CQ-18T features a number of built-in assistants, including a Gain Assistant that automatically optimises the gain level for the preamps, countering any signal peaks in the process. Then there's the Feedback Assistant, which identifies problematic frequencies and lets you filter them out at the push of a button. Meanwhile, the Automatic Mic Mixer constantly monitors the input channels, ensuring maximum sonic clarity by getting rid of background noise. All of these helpful functions can be activated or deactivated at will, so regaining in-depth manual control is always just a small tweak away.
Intelligent Features for Superb Sound
Allen & Health have also crammed a fistful of high-quality effects into the CQ-18T, along with an FX Assistant and tools to help you dynamically incorporate them. The reverb, delay and modulation effects even come with specific presets for different instruments, and are powered by four FX engines that can run at the same time. In addition, you're set up with all essential playback and recording options, a multi-channel USB audio interface, multi-track SD card playback and recording, basic stereo recording and playback via a USB stick, and stereo Bluetooth playback.
Control and Connections
Controlling the A&H CQ-18T couldn't be simpler thanks to the fitted 7-inch multi-touch display and tactile controls. Round the back, you'll find a mass of inputs and outputs, including sixteen mic/line inputs, a stereo input and six independent outputs that can be configured to serve as three stereo outputs. Lastly, this cutting edge desktop mixer can be wirelessly operated via various apps, like the CQ-MixPad for mixer control and the CQ4You app for creating personal monitor mixes.

Na diverse digitale mixers vergeleken te hebben viel mijn oog op deze mixer, het heeft alles wat je nodig hebt, alles degelijk en professioneel uitgevoerd, en het grote voordeel van een ingebouwd aanraakscherm. De grote klacht bij de mixers die alleen met een tablet via wifi bediend kunnen worden is het wegvallen van het wifi signaal waardoor je de mixer niet meer kunt bedienen (tot je weer verbinding hebt). Dat probleem heb je bij deze mixer niet. Desondanks is de mixer via de app ook via een tablet te bedienen wat ideaal is als je even op het podium de monitor wilt afregelen. Ook kun je even door de hele ruimte lopen en ter plekke bijregelen.
Het leren kennen kost even tijd maar alles zit op een logische plek, de effecten zijn meer dan goed en de auto-gain is een leuke feature voor al die muzikanten op het podium die stiekem hun volume opdraaien.
De library is ook een leuke feature, bij het instellen van het kanaal kies je bijvoorbeeld vocal of gitaar en dan worden bijna alle instellingen voor dat kanaal op de meest gebruikte waarden gezet. Zet je het kanaal daarna weer op manual dan hoef je alleen nog een paar dingen naar eigen smaak bij te regelen.
En met 18 in en 8 out heb je in de meeste gevallen meer dan genoeg, en de 18 in is ook echt 16 XLR inputs en twee jack.
Het voelt allemaal heel degelijk aan, ik kan deze mixer echt aanbevelen.

Dit is echt een geweldig apparaat. Ik was een beetje ongerust of het niet te ingewikkeld zou zijn, maar na een middagje knutselen en ontdekken heb ik al veel plezier met deze mixer gehad. Mooie effecten zitten er ook in.
Dit is een heel handige mooie compacte oplossing voor onze live uitvoeringen. Ook degelijk in bouw, voelt stevig en robuust aan. Ik veracht deze mixer nog zeker 10 jaar met veel plezier te kunnen gebruiken.

Cette table de mixage répond à une demande simple: sonoriser un événement en un minimum de temps avec un résultat très professionnel. Elle peut aussi s’intégrer dans un home studio. Je suis souvent seul sur scène et quel bonheur de pouvoir faire mes balances en totale autonomie grâce à l’enregistrement sur carte SD. Les effets ne sont pas nombreux mais on y trouve son bonheur. Le wifi intégré fonctionne très bien et permet de se passer d’un routeur externe. Le réglage automatique des preamplis fait vraiment bien son travail. Bref je suis très satisfait ! Seul point qui pourrait en faire un produit incroyable serait de pouvoir lui ajouter un contrôleur avec des faders motorisés sans passer par une application tierce. Mais j’ai bon espoir que les équipes de A&H nous concoctent des surprises dans les firmwares à venir.

Geweldig aparaat. Geluid is super, 6 individuele mixen voor monitor, 18 kanalen separaat opnemen. Heel praktisch in de bediening, werk super in band setting en in home studio. Erg handig met alle scènes die je kunt creëren en opslaan.

Ook wat betreft het snel kunnen leveren van hun producten heeft Bax-Shop mij weer verrast.
Afgelopen zondag 16-09-2024 heb ik de CQ-18T gebruikt op onze Corsowagen in combinatie met 4x de EV ZLX-15 P en 1x EV ETX-15SP dit ging perfect.
Het was een juiste combinatie, kon alles van buiten af in regelen via de Allen & Heath CQ Mixpad app die prima doet wat ik wilde, gewoon top.
Onze leden van de club waren er goed over te spreken, het geluid kwam goed tot zijn recht. ( 'Sól Cultus' )

Heerlijk licht en kleine (footprint niet wat functionaliteit betreft) digitale mixer. Heb de nodige ervaring met (digitale) mixers, M32 en QU24 en was vooral wat sceptisch mbt touch screen only. Ben nogal gehecht aan fysieke faders, knoppen en het overzicht over de tafel.
Vooral op mijn desk in mjn home studio is de footprint een verademing, klein nadeel het wat rommelige door de aansluitingen boven op de mixer ipv aan de achterkant.
Ik gebruik de mixer in mijn studio, naast een Motu interface, onder meer om de nodige synths aan te sluiten.
Verder onderdeel van mijn mobile recording rig, zal de QU24 vervangen. In veel gevallen zal ik aan 16 kanalen genoeg hebben. Veel voorkomende setup: drum (5), zang (3), gitaar (2), bas (1), keys (4)
Wat geluidskwaliteit betreft, klinkt gewoon erg goed, als een Allen&Heath mengtafel, is heel stil. Voor life opnamen vooralsnog 48khz naar USB stick en streamen naar laptop/DAW
