General
In addition to their successful M32, Midas offers the more compact M32R. R, of course, is an indicator for rack mounting. This mixer is equipped with 17 faders, 16 for the separate channels and one for the master signal. Thanks to its 25 phase-coherent buses, you can perfectly create even complex mixes. Even complicated monitoring jobs are no problem at all with the Midas M32R. The M32R features 16 analogue inputs and 16 analogue outputs that you can stretch up to a massive 40 inputs and 24 outputs with Midas' digital snakes. Additionally, the clear channel strip and compact TFT screen provide a good view of what you're doing. Thanks to its large range of effects and routing options, there's not a mixing job this compact powerhouse can't handle!
Midas M32R: digital processing
In the old days, you'd need stacks and stacks of auxiliary equipment to just come close to the processing power of the M32R. It emulates several classic, timeless effects such as the 1176LN, the LA-2A or an 480L. You can apply these effects to one of the 8 stereo FX engines. Additionally, each channel has a separate dynamic section as well as a 4-band parametric equalizer. When you select a channel, you can adjust the effects and processors from the clear channel strip. It also allows you to set the gain, level of the buses and auxiliaries, pan and balance. What's more, you can also use it as an audio interface for virtual sound checks.
Buses, DCA's and monitoring
Mixers this size often have DCA groups (the digital version of VCA groups) that allow you to assign channels - like a complete drum mix for instance - and adjust the volume while the overall balance remains unchanged. The Midas M32 offers eight freely assignable DCA groups. There's even an app on the market that allows musicians to mix their own sound on a phone or tablet! Also, the M32 is a perfect pair with the P16 monitoring system. The buses can also be used internally for bus processing, for instance. Plenty of options for a perfect mix!
