The StudioLive 16 is part of Presonus' III series and offers more possibilities than ever before to improve live mixes and recordings on stage or in the studio. It's equipped with built-in software, has 17 touch-sensitive motorised faders and 16 XMAX microphone preamps. Each channel has its own equalizer and compressor. The mixer can be operated digitally using UC's Surface software on Mac, Windows, iPod, iPad or Android. That also gives you the opportunity to check the sound from multiple points in a venue. Using the built-in SD card slot, you can also carry out digital sound checks. With the Qmix application, artists can even make their own monitor mixes.
Presonus StudioLive 16 III: the best of analogue and digital
The StudioLive 16 has sixteen input channels and each one has phantom power available if required. Eight of the inputs are XLR and the other eight are XLR/jack combos. There are also AUX and RCA connection options. Outputs include six XLR's, an AES/EBU, two jacks for monitoring purposes and another four for mix outs. There's also a stereo RCA output (tape out) on board. The StudioLive has a USB port too, and you can use it to save recording directly on a USB stick. As you can see, there's plenty of choice for even the most seasoned sound technicians.
Compact powerhouse
The Presonus StudioLive 16 also offers a range of possibilities when it comes to effects with an assortment of high-pass filters, limiters, compressors, gates, reverbs and delays. They can all be quickly and easily adjusted using the graphic equalizer. UC Surface 2, Capture, Studio One Professional DAW and the Qmix monitor application software are all included with this digital mixer too. All together, this makes the StudioLive 16 III one of the most versatile mixers on the market today.
