Casio's black CDP-230R BK delivers a tremendous amount of bang for your buck. It combines the characteristics of a keyboard with those of a digital piano. Its 88-key keyboard is just as wide as that of an acoustic piano, and the keys have an authentic piano feel that becomes heavier when you reach the lower tones. A pedal is included, allowing for the same sustain a regular piano offers. As such, the CDP-230R is fully equipped for playing real piano pieces.

In addition to its full-blown piano functionality, the CDP-230RBK offers a range of great features usually associated with keyboards. A fantastic collection of instruments (700 sounds) is yours to choose from, and there are 200 automatic backings to accompany you, which respond to the chords you play (with your left hand or across the entire keyboard), or to the bass tones. The Casio instrument also features a built-in metronome, a pitch bend wheel and intelligent functions like Auto Harmonize, which adds automatically harmonised notes to the melody your right hand is playing.

If you're still honing your piano or keyboard playing skills, the CDP-230R is the perfect instrument for you. It offers a number of useful practice programs for beginners, such as Step Up Lesson, which divides a song into separate phrases for you to practise one by one, until you get the entire song down. A Voice Fingering Guide provides additional aid by giving spoken feedback with regards to your fingering. The CDP-230R is equipped with a recorder too, and even allows you to play along with your favourite music after you've connected your smartphone (or similar audio device) to its 3.5mm audio input.
