Combining the looks and sound of a digital piano with the versatility of an entertainer's keyboard, the Roland FP-E50 picks up where some of Roland's classic creations left off and certainly punches above its weight.
The Sound of the Roland FP-E50
Powered by the SuperNATURAL engine, the FP-E50 runs on the basis of physics instead of samples, meaning its sound is carefully calculated based on parameters like the position of the lid (open/closed). One of the biggest advantages of this technology is that it does away with key-groups and velocity-groups, leaving you with nothing but extremely authentic, highly convincing sound.

Besides acoustic and electric pianos, the FP-E50 comes loaded with hundreds of other sounds - including strings, organs, synths and drum kits - as well as a bank of effects and more than a hundred different styles complete with intros, endings and variations. You're even free to plug a microphone into the fitted jack port and enrich your vocals with effects like harmony, a transformer, a vocoder, and more. Delivered on the day I asked for by two polite men.
Got for a good price and very happy with the piano itself! It has a great tone and the key action is far superior to my previous piano (a Yamaha which I loved). Have had to get the manuals from online and there are a ton of features some easy to access and others not so much.
All the extra features make this a great starter piano for young learners as well as inexperienced older players like myself. I enjoy hooking it up to my speakers and playing along with songs I've learnt.
My son is 9 and is really enjoying the different sounds, instruments and the dual and key split functions. It adds an extra dimension to his piano lessons as he's into it so much more than he was with our previous piano. This one is clearly more engaging for him.
The one warning I would give is that's it's not easy to set up midi wise with a DAW, and it has some surprising limitations in that regard.
Apart from that, I feel this is an excellent piano and represents great value for money for anyone looking for a good sounding piano (with many extra instruments, synth sounds and potential to build your own sounds) with modern features at a good price point.

I bought this for my partner for Christmas and so far he really likes it - the keys feel great and there’s a big range of sounds and styles and a lot of helpful features. Only negative point is that the sound quality from the speakers could be a bit better.

Great touch. Excellent piano sound and a good selection of tones. Clear user interface and the easy access of favourites is well designed. Looks good on the 3 pedal stand in my music room and is (just about) light enough to carry in a keyboard back when I need to take it elsewhere and put it on an X frame.
Would have been useful if there were thumb turn screws to fix to base for easy removal but I have ordered some on Amazon!
I was able to download additional orchestral instruments from the Roland Cloud site as I need a portable piano to stand in for Piano/ Harp and Celeste with a local orchestra - but the Roland online documentation is not easy to follow!
If you want to use online features make sure you start by downloading any available updates as nothing else works until this is done!

Klavier voelt hij prettig aan.
Accoustische pianoklanken zijn geweldig. Heerlijk die polyphonie van 256.
Brass en bas geluiden vind ik van Yamaha beter.
Maar deze gebruik ik op deze Iano ook minder.

Prima Digitiale Piano. Fijne aanslag en veel mogelijkheden inclusief 'bijgeleverd, bij dit model. Levering helemaal zoals aangegeven, perfect verpakt en heel zorgvuldig afgeleverd. EN, de after-service van BAX is geweldig. Lesinstructies, video's, speel- en onderhoudsuggesties. Dit model heeft aantrekkelijke prijs, maar de service na koop is echt vele malen meer en beter, dan je zou verwachten bij een aankoop van dit prijsniveau. Erg blij mee en helemaal in de wolken van mijn nieuwe instrument. Complimenten aan Roland, de fabrikant en aan BAX voor aanbod, levering en service!!

Heel goede digitale piano, met heel wat mogelijkheden voor een schappelijke prijs. Ik had vroeger de Yamaha DGX 640 (voorganger van de huidige DGX 670) en twijfelde lang tussen deze Roland of de DGX 670.
Qua capaciteiten en mogelijkheden zijn ze zeer vergelijkbaar, dus komt het vooral aan op voorkeur. Ik heb veel plezier gehad van de Yamaha, maar heb de aanslag van de toetsen altijd minder gevonden. De aanslag bij de Roland is dan weer zeer aangenaam. De klank is persoonlijke voorkeur, hoewel de meesten wel voor Yamaha zouden kiezen, denk ik. Persoonlijk vind ik de klank van de Roland ook goed, en ook het design is veel slanker en eenvoudiger dan de DGX 670.
Het komt echt aan op persoonlijke voorkeur, maar afgezien van de iets schellere klank is dit een top piano. Ik raad in ieder geval wel aan om effectief de winkel te bezoeken en zelf aan te voelen wat jouw voorkeur heeft. Het is toch altijd anders om dit in het echt te horen en voelen.

Wat een fantastisch apparaat zeg. Ik heb in het verleden verschillende digitale piano's gehad van Yamaha, Kurzweil, Korg. Ik had de Yamaha S90ES, die piano's klonken geweldig en de toetsen voelde best goed.
Ik had later een meer budget Yamaha digitale piano met ingebouwde speakers. De toetsen waren best ok maar de ingebouwde speakers klonken echt alsof het uit een blik kwam, niet om aan te horen.
Ik had ook nog een synthesizer en wilde eigenlijk een vervanging voor deze en een fijne digitale piano. Die heb ik gevonden, want en fantastische klanken en toetsen! Ik ben zeer tevreden en de optie om meer wave tables in te laden en geluiden en accomplishments te downloaden zijn echt een kers op de taart. Daarnaast kan je midi en audio opnemen via USB! Kortom een top product voor een super prijs!

Onlangs heb ik deze Roland bij Baxmusic gekocht.Toetsenbord is perfect , maar pianoklank viel tegen.Enkele dagen lang probeerde ik
van deze klank gewoon te worden , maar het is niet gelukt.De klank is niet kleurrijk genoeg.Het klinkt , alsof de piano in doos zit en je buiten staat.Jammer genoeg , de klavier zelf is van onberispelijke kwaliteit.Uiteindelijk heb ik deze piano terug naar de winkel gebracht en Yamaha digitale piano DGX 670 gepakt.Deze klinkt veel beter , maar klavier is minder goed.Dus , dat is altijd een compromis in bepaalde prijscategorie.
