The Yamaha Arius YDP-103 R offers the sound of an acoustic piano, which Yamaha has taken great care in sampling in stereo. The Graded Hammer Standard keys of this digital piano ensures that the lower keys feel heavier when played and the higher ones feel lighter. This is particularly important for beginners who are learning proper playing technique. To get as close to an acoustic piano as possible, the Arius YDP-103 has been equipped with three pedals: soft, sostenuto and damper, including half-pedal support. The Rosewood finish gives this instrument an elegant appearance.
Possibilities
Besides the sound of a grand piano, this piano also offers nine other sounds for you to play around with. Using the Dual Mode, you can combine two sounds to create a new one. The Reverb function simulates the acoustics of various locations so even when you're practising in your living room, it can sound as if you're playing in a concert hall. The audio is amplified via two built-in, 6-watt speakers, but you can also plug in a set of headphones; in fact, the YDP-103 has two headphone outputs which is handy in teaching situations. What's more, it features a special Duo Mode that splits the keyboard into two separate parts in the same register.
USB
Via USB, the YDP-103 can be connected to a computer, iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch or other mobile device simply by means of a standard USB cable (sold separately). Especially for iOS devices, there's the UD-BT01, which enables you to make a wireless connection. Using special apps by Yamaha, you can really make the most of your digital piano!
