This pedal tastefully combines the classic RAT distortion and the legendary Tonebender MkII fuzz, resulting in great effect that, according to Catalinbread 'sings like a fuzz but is tight like a distortion'. What's more, as the Katzenkonig is a true bypass pedal, it doesn't affect your signal at all when it's turned off.
Katzenkönig Distortion Fuzz: many types of distortion
You can approach this Catalinbread pedal in two different ways. It could be a distortion pedal that offers just a bit more definition and buttery goodness for your leads. Or it can offer that distinctive Tonebender fuzz sound with a bit more bottom for solid rhythm parts. The Katzenkonig stomp box does both, and allows you full control over its ouput. Both the input and output volume can be adjusted, using the 'input' and 'volume' knobs, while the 'gain' knob adjusts the second gain stage. That means the Katzenkonig offers many different types of distortion that can be fine-tuned to suit your preference. Finally, the 'filter' knob allows you to vary your sound between smooth and creamy to bright and cutting, and everything in between.
