General
The Koch Superlead is a preamp pedal slash stomp box modelled after the familiar Koch Pedaltone. The Pedaltone is an all-in-one overdrive pedal that might be a bit too extensive for some. This is why Koch offers several preamp pedals with their own particular sound. The Superlead specialises in distinctively '80s distortions, which you can accurately adjust with six controls (including a 3-band equalizer). Its 12AX7 preamp tube ensures warm, organic distortion.
Superlead: high-quality yet versatile
This durable, top-quality effect pedal features two quiet foot switches for fast and noiseless switching between three sounds. Go from the incredibly transparent clean channel to a fat, rich overdrive with the left switch, and press the right switch to add a proper gain boost to the overall sound for virtually endless sustain. Thanks to a plethora of connections, the signal can leave the pedal in numerous ways. You can use the jack connector to plug the Superlead directly into an amplifier, the Clean input of your combo (or amp head), or simply incorporate it into your effects loop.
Even more connectors
On the right side of the Superlead is a practical XLR output that allows you to connect the pedal (with its cabinet simulation) directly to a mixer. Its other side features two sets of FX-loop connectors. The pre version is meant for effects such as compressors, overdrive and wah, while the post version is perfect for delays, reverbs and modulation effects. Additionally, this distortion pedal comes with a 12-volt adapter and a 9-volt output so you can daisy chain the power to your other effects via a separately available cable. Lastly, there's a Remote input for a MIDI switcher, for instance.
