The DSM & Humboldt Dumblifier Overdrive Special is an analogue preamp and overdrive designed to reproduce the characteristic sound, compression and response of the mythical Dumble Overdrive Special. Unlike digital simulations, it goes beyond just tone: it also models the unique feel under the fingers, giving each note organic response and rich harmonic sustain. The pedal offers two channels: Clean and Overdrive. An array of switches such as PAB boost, Bright, Mid Boost and Rock/Jazz allow you to model your sound very precisely: from bright, sparkling cleans to a full crunch with plenty of pronounced mids. The Overdrive section features Gain and Ratio controls, so the balance and intensity of the drive can be precisely adjusted.

Comprehensive features and capabilities

The Dumblifier offers a number of features not often found in pedals: an analogue power-amp simulation with adjustable compression via master volume, a stereo fx loop, stereo reverb with three algorithms (room, ethereal, plate), and a comprehensive stereo cabinet simulator with a choice of three speakers (G12M, G12H, EV12L) and three cab types (1x12, 2x12, 4x12). Each channel can be set individually, making this pedal suitable as a full-fledged amp replacement in studio and live situations. Thanks to stereo DI outputs, TR outputs with switchable cab-sim, input-boost options, AUX routing and headphone functionality, the Dumblifier is as at home on stage as it is in the studio or rehearsal room.
