General
Because an original 1965 vintage American valve amp (the one with the black panel and built-in reverb tank) can get pretty pricey, TC Electronic has captured its sound and sealed it up inside a more affordable AMPWORX Series stompbox. The AMPWORX Combo Deluxe 65 preamp pedal doesn't just mimic the sound but the style and layout of an icon, so you can flip through two channels via the Channel footswitch, set the Gain level and tweak the Bass, the Middle and Treble per channel, as well as throw in a little spring reverb.
The TC Electronic Combo Deluxe 65: Natural American Nuance
The reverb is an exact digital print of the effect that came with the original combo and can be fine-tuned via its own mini tone pot, which can be found on the rear panel, next to the Bright mini-switch. So that every bit of nuance is fully voiced via ultra-low latency, this pedal harnesses TC Electronic's ground-breaking AMPWORX modelling technology, resulting in a level of response to match the original combo. And to finish with a modern twist, the Combo Deluxe 65 pedal also features a special DI output so it can be directly jacked into a PA system or audio interface, and once hooked up, your sound is treated to a speaker cab emulation provided by none other than Celestion Digital.
