With the XW-DJ1, Japanese electronics colossus Casio instantly scores points for design. Unlike other, more traditional DJ controllers, the Trackformer looks like a spacecraft that could win a intergalactic war or two. Luckily, it also has the necessary features and functions to be a true cult classic in the making.
Characteristics of the Casio XW-DJ1 Trackformer DJ controller
Using the Casio Trackformer DJ controller is a piece of cake. Connect it to your PC, Mac, iPhone or iPad, install a DJ app and get ready to spin those decks! The XW-DJ1 is compatible with djay 2, djay LE and Deckadance, so there are plenty of options to choose from. Once you've mastered the basics - you will in no time - you can take the Trackformer with your wherever you go. It's powered via USB or an adapter, but also runs on AA batteries, so you can even practise your DJ skills on the train, using your smartphone as a media player. The XW-DJ1 has a comfortable jog platter that feels like vinyl under your fingertips. Its many buttons give you access to functions like cues, deck select and scratch direction, and the usual transport buttons are also at your disposal.
