General

Moulded from Linear Low Density Polyethylene (LLDPE), the SKB 8U Roto Rack is not only securely stackable but virtually unbreakable. Finished with rubber seals, this solid, shock-resistant and water-proof case offers excellent protection for 8-units of gear, and the convenience of a double-door construction. The handles have been neatly recessed, while the fitted locks are TSA-approved and the base has been finished with anti-slip rubber feet for maximum stability. SKB have even included a pack of mounting screws.

Wrote the following about SKB Roto rack 19 inches 8U, 483 x 356 x 447mm

Overprized.

Het rotatie spuitgiet werk is onder de maat. Het gebruikte materiaal lijkt - en is in zekere opzichten - cheapo. Plus een waarschuwing sticker op de kist met de vermelding dat de staat California in de VS vindt dat er kankerverwekkende materialen in worden gebruikt! Huh?

Deze serie van SKB is een massaproduct geworden wat dat zonder veel zorg in elkaar wordt gezet.
Dat was wel anders bij SKB voorheen.

An sich een prima rack, met een aantal minder sterke - en zelfs zwakke punten.
Voordelen:
-het lage gewicht
-prima rack strips
-er wordt een (beperkt) setje schroeven bijgeleverd
-mooie sluitingen

Nadelen:
-slecht afgewerkt (randen)
-zakt door boven en onder
-nergens rechte lijnen te bekennen
-zwak materiaal
-midden vlakken boven en onder die dusdanig uitsteken, dat ze de apparatuur in de weg zitten
-handgreep vlakken: i.d.
-handgrepen zelf lijken niet bestand tegen hoge gewichten

Conclusie:
Ik heb er twee gekocht, puur en alleen om het lage gewicht. Een flightcase van alu/multiplex in deze maat is ca. 3x zo zwaar. Voor alle andere features: laat staan voor deze prijs en zoek verder. (Ga ik ook doen, deze gaan Marktplaats op.)
