Everything you would expect from a kit in this price-range is present in the Pearl EXL705/C249 5-piece Export Lacquer shell set in Honey Amber. This means there is hardly any risk: years from now, this will still be a great-sounding kit. A 20 x 18-inch bass drum makes up the bottom-end for this set, it has 10 x 8 and 12 x 8-inch toms and a 14 x 14-inch floor tom, while the 14 x 5.5-inch snare makes this a complete set. And it doesn't stop there, because you also get a Pearl Hardware Pack 830.

Features of the Pearl EXL705/C249

You won't need to worry about the sound. With this product, Pearl delivers a set of great-looking shells that produce a rich, deep sound, courtesy of the 7.5mm thick 6-ply combination of poplar and Asian mahogany. The rich sustain and deep resonance are the result of the 45-degree bearing edges, while the triple flanged hoops provide a sharp attack. The toms are mounted with the Opti-Loc system, which keeps your toms firmly in place while allowing them to resonate freely.

Optional: cymbals

Though this was the case in the 2013 Export series, cymbals are not included with this product. Pearl decided to let you choose your own cymbal, because they know how personal choosing the right one is, mostly because there are hundreds of cymbals, in all shapes and sizes, manufactured by different companies and made of various metals and alloys.
