The new triangular Opti-Loc tom mounting system makes sure the toms resonate even better, without sacrificing stability. The lugs have also been improved to minimise contact with the shell and optimise resonance. The shells are made from 6 plies of poplar and Asian mahogany and were constructed in line with Pearl's Superior Shell Technology: a technique that guarantees durability and quality.

The Pearl Export Series drum set in Electric Blue Sparkle consists of a 22 x 18-inch bass drum, 12 x 8 and 13 x 9-inch toms, a 16 x 16-inch floor tom and a 14 x 5.5-inch snare.
