Tama hits the mark
The kit does not come with any cymbals, but otherwise you are pretty much set. A snare drum, bass drum, two toms and two floor toms are yours to enjoy! The shells are made of birch, which gives them a snappy sound: clear, direct and seriously loud - all great qualities to have on stage! The shells are made of multiple plies of wood; six for the snare and toms and seven for the bass drum.
Silverstar
Silverstars get a lot of respect all over, thanks to their remarkable value for money - and in 2013, Tama has made some changes to these drums. They now feature Tama's Sound Arc hoops, that give the drums a very natural sound and enhance their sensitivity. The toms are a little less deep than they used to be, and are much closer to the traditional tom sizes, which also emphasise the tonal character of the birch shells.
