General

The Sennheiser MD 441-U is one of the most precise and versatile dynamic microphones available. It is well suited to pick up vocals as well as instruments. In the neutral setting, the MD 441-U has a very linear frequency response that reaches from 30 Hz to 20 kHz and can be fully adjusted via two switches. Its super-cardioid pickup pattern makes the microphone highly directional and therefore insensitive to feedback, so that it is well suited for studio and on-stage use.

Setting the MD 441-U up

As the Sennheiser MD 441-U is highly directional, you will need to position it properly. Once set up, you will be able to enjoy a full, dynamic sound, that can be adjusted to your preferences via a bass roll-off switch and a brilliance switch. The low-cut filter has five positions and is located at the bottom of the microphone, while the brilliance switch gives the microphone a boost in the high frequencies, so that you will enjoy increased intelligibility.

Insensitive to ambient noise

Ambient noises are almost completely eliminated, thanks to the MD 441-U's construction. Its directional sensitivity makes it extremely insensitive to feedback. The capsule's suspension prevents handling noise from being picked up. Furthermore, the microphone is equipped with a noise-suppressing coil and an integrated pop filter that counters popping and wind noises.
