General
The 4-piece shell set consists of a bass drum, two rack toms and a floor tom. The Tama Superstar Hyperdrive drum kits are ideal for drummers who want a little more quality without having to pay a lot more for it. This configuration is ideal for any style of music from jazz to heavy rock. Hardware, cymbals and a snare drum are not included. The maple shells have a sumptuous Satin Arctic Pearl finish.
Tama ML42HLZBNS-SAP Superstar HD Maple Satin Arctic Pearl 4-piece shell set
The depth of the shells are less than standard, which is one of the most striking things about this set and makes for a compact setup. The bass drum is 22 x 18 inches and is 7 mm thick, while the 10 x 6.5-inch and 12 x 7-inch toms, as well as the 16 x 14-inch floor tom are all 5 mm thick.
Black nickel shell hardware
The hoops, lugs and tension rods all have a black nickel finish which contrasts beautifully with the finish on the shells. The toms are equipped with the Star-Cast mounting system that is also found on the Starclassic drum kits. This gives the toms optimal resonance. The die-cast hoops are made of zinc, which ensure stable tuning, a crisp attack and robust rimshots.
