Yamaha Stage Custom Hip Raven Black 4-Piece Shell Set

Space is becoming ever more precious to the modern drummer. To help square the circle, Yamaha offer a super-tight Stage Custom Hip shell set that's able to squeeze itself into the corner of the most stingy of stages. This set includes an unusually shallow 20 x 8-inch kick drum, a 13 x 8-inch floor tom, a 10 x 5-inch hanging tom and a 13 x 5-inch snare.

Each shell has been shaped by 6-ply birch for detailed sound with added punch, then wrapped in a satisfying Raven Black finish. Another somewhat unique touch is the snare-mat that comes fitted to the floor tom, offering a kind of second snare and a broader sound palette (naturally, it can also be turned off).

A Complete Pack

Like all Yamaha produced shell sets, the Stage Custom Hip comes complete with a snare, a CL940LB mount than can be installed in the top of the kick drum to suspend the included tom, a full set of floor tom legs and a complimentary pack of Yamaha drum heads. While the tight tone of this set more obviously lends itself to Jazz, Pop, Hip-Hop and R&B, it can also bend to the will of any playing style.
