Most drumsticks are matched by manufacturers for weight, pitch, length and, of course, thickness. So there are a lot of operations involved in that and you often see that reflected in the selling price. Most manufacturers also have a budget line. That doesn't necessarily mean at all that the sticks are less good or will break faster. They just cut back on some things that are not necessarily important for every drummer. For Promark, this is the LA Series.

These sticks do get matched on thickness and length, which makes sense because you obviously don't want to play with two completely different sticks. They are just not matched for weight and pitch. The sticks are made of hickory. For the very expensive sticks, they use the best quality hickory, and for the LA Special sticks, basically every piece of hickory available is utilised. So this is actually quite an environmentally conscious choice. These sticks have a standard thickness of 5A and feature an oval wooden tip. A very good choice for pop and rock drummers on a limited budget!
