General

Longer sticks also tend to be a bit thicker, which is not nice if you have small hands or just don't like thick sticks. Vic Firth has the American Classic 1A, a stick with a thickness between 5A and 5B but with a length of 16 13/16 inches, 13/16 inches longer than a 5A. That way you can definitely get everywhere and get some extra power too. To make sure it still plays nice, the stick has a long taper, giving you a bit more rebound. So you certainly don't lose anything in terms of control. The Taj Mahal tip ensures you get different cymbal sounds, depending on the angle you hit.
