Vic Firth have been making high-quality drum sticks for decades. This classic 5BN model is just a little thicker than the standard 5A sticks. Like the other Vic Firth series, this series also has a special Vic Grip model that prevents your drum sticks from slipping out of your hands. These Vic Grip 5B sticks are made of durable hickory and last a long time. The wooden tip has a teardrop shape for an intense cymbal sound.

De Vic Firth 5BVG is een echte afknapper. De griplaag van de stok veroorzaakt blaren en de stok is van relatief slecht hout en breekt snel. Voor het spelen met stokken met grip raad ik een andere stok aan bekleed met drumgrip tape.

Heb een tijd gespeeld met deze stok omdat ze voor mijn speelstijl perfect passen - wat dikker en langer dan een 5A en goed in balans. De Vic Grip geeft een goede grip op de stok en dat helpt voor controle en voorkomt dat ze uit je hand glippen als je erg zweet. Alleen is de laatste tijd de Vic Grip wat dikker en stroever geworden, zodat ik blaren op mijn vingers krijg! En na een relatief korte tijd verslijt de VG laag en dat voelt erg vervelend aan. De rubber velletjes hangen er dan letterlijk aan en de houtlaag eronder is erg glad. Jammer!
