The pickup pattern of a microphone is an important factor when you are attuning a mic to a certain application. Audio Technica designed this ATM650 specifically for the recording of guitar cabinets, snare drums and percussion instruments, and gave it a hyper-cardioid pickup pattern. This ATM650 has a neodymium magnet, for a detailed response with a high output. Thanks to the rugged metal housing, heavy-duty operations aren't a problem.

The hyper-cardioid pickup pattern ensures a perfect isolation of environmental noise, so that the desired sound source is picked up in high-quality.
