General

The Soyuz V1 Dynamic is a handmade microphone that is something of a middle ground between stage and studio. So dynamic on the one hand, with all the advantages that come with it. On the other hand: the clarity of timbre you would rather expect from a studio condenser! Moreover, this Vostok-1 (or simply: V1) can handle the famous proximity effect - the phenomenon where timbre changes based on the distance from the sound source. If with dynamic mics you still sometimes want to add some treble in the mix with an EQ, with the V1 this is actually not even necessary. Of course you can if you want to, but it is no longer a necessity as with other dynamic mics: to compensate for a lack of top-end back. Simply put: the V1 sounds just right 'out of the box'; for vocals, drums, guitar amps and acoustic instruments.
