General
Following up the Acouswitch IQ DI, Lehle presents the RMI Acouswitch IQ DI JR. While the Junior is a more basic edition of the original, it's still the juicy result of the ongoing Lehle Ruppert Musical Instruments (RMI) collaboration. Stuck through this magic box, the sound of your acoustic instrument remains pristine and untouched, all thanks to gold-plated contacts and relays and, via a clear yet detailed set of controls, you're getting the same level of sonic quality as the bigger version - just with some of the unnecessary frills stripped away.
The Lehle RMI Acouswitch IQ DI JR e: Plug in Two Instruments
The IQ DI comes equipped with two inputs so two acoustic instruments can be plugged in at the same time, whether it's two guitars; a guitar and bass; a mandolin and ukulele; a double bass and bass; or a combination of any of the above. In fact, even electrically amplified instruments can be hooked up to this pedal with no issues. This small detail immediately makes it easier for performing musicians to switch instruments mid-set without having to faff with unplugging and plugging in anything: simply set up and switch between the two inputs via the A/B switch planted on the right.
Inputs, Outputs & Control Pots
The Gain and B control pots set the volume of inputs A and B, the BCF and BCL pots can be tweaked to give the Body Contour of your sound some defined shape and, by setting the T pot to the desired level, you can weaken or emphasise the trebles to add the finishing touches to your tone. To support solos and melodic lines, this pedal even features a footswitch-controlled boost function and, in terms of rig integration, you gain the flexibility of a dedicated tuner output, a line output and an on-board effects loop.
