General
The Fishman Tone DEQ is the perfect thing for musicians who prefer to play acoustically. It's a professional pedal that features a high-grade Class-A preamp and a high-impedance input, which is simply a must for any passive pickup. Furthermore, it offers a double effects section, tone control, compressor, level booster and a balanced DI. The Tone DEQ has a fully-analogue signal path, resulting in rich tonal characteristics that suit acoustic instruments particularly well. The digital effects are mixed in parallel for little to no signal-loss.
Tone DEQ: Features
Tone control for the Tone DEQ is done by means of an equalizer (low/mid/high) and a switchable low cut (40/80/160 Hz). The latter eliminates the low bass frequencies some passive pickups produce. The phase shift is reversible to minimise feedback sensitivity. The Tone DEQ features two effects sections. One has two reverbs and two delays, and the other has two types of chorus, a flanger, and a tremolo. When it comes to outputs, you'll find a jack output for an amplifier and a balanced DI output (XLR) with a pre/post switch which is ideal for studio recordings.
Compressor
On stage, it's important to keep control of the dynamics of your instrument at all times so your sound technician won't have to compensate the whole time for an optimal mix. The Fishman Tone DEQ has a soft-knee compressor which has an LED indicator that tells you when it's time to monitor the dynamic character of your sound. This professional pedal is powered by a 9- volt battery or a Fishman 910-R adapter (both of which are sold separately). It's a great way for acoustic musicians to maintain complete control of their dynamic sound, particularly during live performances.

Often saves me having to carry my equally excellent Fishman Loudbox Artist amplifier around - and it can be powered by a nine volt battery and those are a definite bonus.

Ik sluit ook mijn electrische gitaar er op aan en hoor hoe mooi cleansound je krijgt.
Voor semi-accoustic gitaren een musthave vanwege de vele opties.
En voor degene die opneemt geen enkele brom of aardlussen te horen en dus is hij muisstil.
Prachtig geluid ook on stage.

De effecten zijn ook prima, behalve de delay. Die vind ik te beperkt. Dus ik moet alsnog een losse
delay meenemen bij mijn optredens.
Wat ik ook mis is een mute-knop gecombineerd met een stemapparaat zoals de fishman Platinum Pro EQ die wel heeft.
Ik ben benieuwd of Fishman met een opvolger komt die deze voorzieningen wel heeft. Het zou me niet verbazen. En anders misschien een ander merk zoals de aangekondigde T-Rex Soulmate Acoustic.

Goed, hij is veel te duur, en inderdaad, een "analoog" pad zoals Fishman omschrijft is het ook niet, aangezien je over digitale effecten speelt, maarrr....
Dit pedaal is echt supermakkelijk in gebruik. Je hebt zo de juiste standen van de pots gevonden. Een super 1-knob compressor, die doet wat ie moet doen. Totaal geen verkleuring. De delay's en vooral de reverbs klinken echt perfect, in eigenlijk elke stand. Dit geldt ook voor de chorus, flanger en tremolo. Met name de chorus vind ik echt heel subtiel op 12'o'clock standen. Daarnaast de boost; volgens mij heb ik nog nooit zo'n onvervormende boost gehoord. Het bumpt je volume, en enkel en alleen je volume.
Naast dit al is dit ding echt een beauty om te zien. Kortom, als je geld over hebt: kopen.
