The Warwick Black Label 40250 DL 4 Stainless Steel Dark Lord 85-175 is a solid string set for electric bass guitar, with diameters ranging from .085 to .175 inches and thus more suitable for alternative, lower tunings, such as D-G-B-F#. The strings have a hexagonal core and are made entirely of stainless steel, which ensures a very bright sound with a pronounced midrange. The two thickest strings are taperwound, which means they are slightly thinner where they touch the bridge. That way, the action does not get too high and they also get more room to vibrate, which in turn produces more sound.
