General

Guild reintroduced the Starfire Bass II in a glossy natural finish. With a mahogany body and a 3-piece mahogany and maple neck, it offers you that familiar warm hollow-body tone with a slight punch. The 21 narrow-jumbo frets (6105) and the rosewood fretboard's 12-inch radius allow for excellent playing comfort. Two Guild Bi-Sonic Bass humbuckers provide you with a solid foundation for this instrument's versatile sound. Each pickup has its own potentiometers for volume and tone, and there is also a three-way pickup switch and a master volume knob. All of this allows for a highly broad and versatile tonal palette.

Guild Starfire Bass II: Newark St. Collection

In their heyday back in the '60s, the Starfire instruments by Guild had quite a loyal following. Even today, you'll still find plenty of fans who have an old Starfire III, IV or Bass. Now, the American brand is bringing these legendary vintage models back in their Newark St. Collection. This Starfire Bass is a reissued version of the original model that was made popular by famous bass players such as Jack Casady (Jefferson Airplane) and Phil Lesh (Grateful Dead). This excellent guitar offers vintage looks and a classic sound, combined with a modern feel.
