General
Boasting the deluxe flair of a quilted maple top, the progressive stability of an Accu-cast B300 bridge and the potent output of a pair of PowerSpan Dual Coil pickups, the Ibanez SR400EQM bass has every right to call itself a modern classic. The bolted on neck has a solid five-piece maple and walnut construction that, together with the truss rod, renders it near-insensitive to extreme temperature and humidity shifts. The twenty-four medium frets and lightweight, rounded-off SR nyatoh body are all other welcome details, contributing to untold playing comfort.
The Ibanez SR400EQM: The Power
The two PowerSpan Dual Coil pickups mounted at the bridge and in the middle have been wired into an active three-band EQ, so the naturally dynamic mid-range rich output can be brought to shape. Mix the sound of both pups via the Balance pot and, via the Powertap switch, flip through three different voicings: humbucker, single-coil and a blend of both, so you get the noiseless operations of a dual-coil combined with the clarity of a single-coil.
