The German-built Sadowsky Metroline Series 21-4 Vintage bears classic J-vibed style and contemporary, boutique-grade sound and specs, yet comes at a more off-the-rack price. While it doesn't directly hail from New York City, this solid-bodied model boasts the same features and quality of build as its American cousins.

The MetroLine 21-4 Vintage: Lightweight & Effortlessly Playable

The body of the MetroLine 21-4 Vintage has been kept as lightweight as humanly possible and has been contoured in all the right places to absolutely ensure a snug and tight feel. The C-profile neck and 12 inch fretboard radius also have a part to play, while the deep cutaways ensure fluid access to the highest of the 21 frets and the '60s-style positioning of the bridge pickup provides the perfect thumb-rest to support more punching playing techniques. This solid model comes complete with a Portabag, a COA, a set of S-Security strap locks, and a set of adjustment keys.

Hum-Free Passive & Active Sound

Kitted out with two J-style noise-cancelling pickups, this bass grants full access to that familiar single-coil punch but wiped clean of any of the associated hum - and that's just in passive mode. Engage the push-pull function of the vintage tone control pot and flip this bass into active mode to unleash an even deeper growl and double the sonic palette. All of the hardware, meanwhile, from the light open-gear machines heads, to the quick-string-release bridge and Just-A-Nut III nut have been provided by Sadowsky, laying down astonishingly stable tuning and intonation and completing a neat and high-end four-string package.
