While it is a bit cheaper, this model still boasts some high-end upgrades that boost both the playability and sound. Starting with the comfortable, lightweight poplar body and the C-profile of the bolt-on maple neck, this bass supports smooth note-navigation, while the classic set of block position markers add a touch of throwback class.
The Squier Affinity Active Jazz Bass V: Classic Looks & Modern 5-String Sound
Mounted with a two-pack of Ceramic Noiseless J Bass single-coil pickups, this electric bass delivers balanced J-style sound with a clean and modern core. The electronics are backed up by an active 9V preamp complete with a stacked two-band EQ pot and a volume pot per pickup so the output can be shaped in surgical detail. Add on the deep-diving five-string range and you've got a crazy-versatile yet classic bass on your hands.
