General
Based on a classic, the P-style Fazley FPB118 puts a solid yet affordable starter-instrument in the hands of anyone itching to start playing the bass. This four-string bass comes loaded with a passive split-coil pickup and a fuss-free set of tone and volume controls for dialling in some growl and punch, as well as a comfy, bolt-on maple neck with a modern C-profile while the dark fretboard has been loaded with 20 frets. The body has been finished with a high-gloss lacquer, completing a comfortable model that boasts the kind of snug playability that's perfect for beginners, and just as perfect as a back-up for gigging bassists.

My first Bass, so this isnt exactly a review by a seasoned expert...
I am very happy with the way it sounds, plays, and looks. Stays in tune fine. Frets aren't too rough.
Wasn't too enamoured of the initial set of strings. Swapped them out for some from a recognised brand name and it now plays rather more nicely.
The info that it came with was a bit sparse. the four controls are, from neck to bridge: Tone (neck), Volume, Tone (Bridge), Mix (Neck // Bridge).
The head area has a few minor niggles - you might prefer smaller tuning pegs and to have them all be on the top, rather than having two on the underside, but this is at most a minor quibble.
At the £100 ish price point, it is good enough to get 5 stars, despite these minor issues.

A very decent bass, nice body wood, Neck and fingerboard, good quality, reasonably good tuners, seems to hold tuning well, decent bridge, reasonably loud output, the pickup gives nice low end, punchy, mid and bright Tone, I am okay with this item. A very reasonable price-point for what you get!
