General
As well as the regular 6-string bass guitar, there is also a 6-string bass that's tuned an entire octave lower. For that, you'll need the Ernie Ball 2837 Slinky E-tuning 29 5/8Scale Bass strings. The ball ends of these strings are much smaller and the transparent, nickel-wound tone is perfect for New Wave melody lines, Classic rock riffs and octave doubling for that iconic Nashville tic-tac bass guitar sound. These six strings range from .020 to .090 inches and are ideal for a 29 5/8-inch scale length.
